Inside Sales Impact at Veeam Romania

How Teamwork Builds Confidence and Creates Bigger Career Opportunities

Nine months after joining Veeam as a Sales Development Representative (SDR), Iuliana Ciucur was promoted into an Inside Sales Representative (ISR) role covering the German market, a shift that quickly changed the trajectory of her sales career. Five years later, she points to a different milestone as the one that reshaped how she sees her own growth: closing the largest deal of her career so far.

"In sales, you never ask yourself how much longer until the day is over. Time just passes, and you're still full of energy, because you get to talk to people every day. Closing a deal is one of the most rewarding feelings there is."

Since then, her track record has grown to include an MVP (Most Valuable Player) win and a proposal now being considered for the entire sales organization.

What Is It Like to Work as an Inside Sales Representative at Veeam Romania?

Veeam has earned Great Place To Work Certification™ in 25 countries. For Iuliana, onboarding set the tone for why she believes it's the people who make the Bucharest team a great place to work.

"My manager used to call and ask if I was okay. He'd say, I know it's a lot of information, take your time, you will have time to do everything. My coworkers reached out too, over Teams, before I'd even said anything, asking do you need anything?"

That same mix of personalities carries through on her team today, and Iuliana credits her manager with making it work.

"Even with 30 people, he manages to include everyone. If someone is sitting in a corner saying nothing, he'll joke about something and bring them into the conversation. You never feel left out."

It's a big part of why the job still doesn't feel old to her.

“Veeam really does feel like a big team that’s really close. That's the main reason I've stayed."

How Do Sales Representatives Grow Their Careers at Veeam?

Iuliana's own promotion, from Sales Development Representative to Inside Sales Representative in under a year, reflects one aspect of growth and development at Veeam. Much of the learning since has come from Launchpad, Veeam's annual global sales kickoff event, and from Athena, the internal training program that walks reps through qualifying questions and product scenarios.

"Overall it's very motivating. You get all the information about the year ahead, and there's a nice mix of work and downtime, like team dinners or a round of golf."

And its useful when she’s learning how to approach deals from different, fresh perspectives.

"What helps me is shadowing, joining calls with different colleagues and comparing approaches. They handle things differently than I do, and sometimes their way works better."

Her manager also gave her the opportunity to grow in an area that mattered for her sales career, with the support she needed to build an essential skill.

"I wasn't comfortable presenting in front of a lot of people. My manager gave me the chance to try it, and after two or three times, I realized I could."

How Does an Inside Sales Representative Make an Impact at Veeam?

The clearest example of Iuliana's impact came from the largest deal of her career so far, closed with our industry leading Veeam Data Platform software. Rather than working the account alone, she pulled together a shared Teams channel with the solutions engineer and account manager on the deal.

Everyone was so present and willing to help, proactively giving updates. All the details were clear and clean, and it ran smoothly because all the teams had gathered to help this one customer.

The deal later earned her Veeam's MVP recognition, one of the company's programs for standout sales performance.

"It felt very rewarding, like my work meant something and my management could see what I'd done and appreciated it."

Why Join Veeam Romania’s sales team?

For candidates weighing an Inside Sales Representative role at Veeam Romania, Iuliana points to two things that shape day-to-day motivation beyond the team itself. The first is Veeam's uncapped commission structure for Inside Sales Reps, which ties her earning potential directly to her own results rather than a fixed ceiling.

"There's no limit to what you can reach, and that really motivates us when it comes to closing deals!”

The second is VeeaMe Days, where once a quarter the entire company takes a paid day off to rest and recharge their wellbeing, once every quarter.

"It felt like a nice surprise when I first heard about it. It's not counted as one of your regular holiday days, and it's placed so it lands next to a weekend, so you get a longer break out of it. It feels like they see our contributions and want to show appreciation."

For Iuliana, Veeam is a company willing to back her and her sales team, from the way she was onboarded to the way her ideas get heard by leadership. Achieve your sales career’s next biggest milestone with us, and explore current openings at Veeam Veeam Romania.
