Inside Sales Representative at Veeam Poland
Winning Deals on Accounts That Keep Critical Infrastructure Running
Dmytro joined Veeam in October 2023, arriving from one of the more unusual career paths on the Warsaw sales floor. He spent his student years as a licensed tour guide in Krakow, moved into credit at Shell, worked at a bank in Canada selling financial products, and came back to Warsaw looking for something different. He wanted to move into tech, and he wanted to work somewhere the product actually mattered.
"Protecting the world's data, that's our story."
A year and a half in, he has been flown to Launchpad events in Dublin and Las Vegas, and had a moment that settled any remaining question about whether the work he does makes a difference.
What does working as an Inside Sales Representative at Veeam actually feel like?
"I enjoy closing deals and helping customers be protected better. I joke with them, saying that with us, you can enjoy a very healthy sleep without thinking about whether your production is running."
The role is quota-carrying and the expectation is clear: Dmytro sells Veeam products to a defined account list, moves opportunities through the pipeline, and closes. What he did not expect when he joined was how directly the work would connect to something larger than the deal itself.
When a cybersecurity incident caused outages across Germany, airports, hospitals, and railways were among the organizations affected, businesses where downtime is not just expensive but dangerous.
"I felt like I was making a positive impact on customers. Critical infrastructure in Germany were paused, causing millions of dollars in losses and affecting people's lives. It cemented the idea that backup is critical. I saw firsthand the impact of saving companies' operations through our vital software."
Is hitting quota as an ISR at Veeam realistic?
"It is manageable. You can reliably hit quota if you work hard."
Dmytro hit 192% of quota in one quarter. He is clear that the process has its challenges, but the combination of brand recognition, tooling, and team support makes the targets achievable for someone who puts in the work.
Veeam's brand recognition is a genuine sales asset. Most enterprise buyers already know the name, which shortens the credibility conversation and lets Dmytro get to the real discussion faster.
"Everybody in the business knows about Veeam. They know we are market leaders. Having that perception, that brand recognition, is really important to helping us close deals."
Beyond the brand, the infrastructure around the sales team is what Dmytro points to when asked what actually helps him hit his numbers. The Competitive Intelligence (CI) team is one of the most concrete examples, a dedicated function that tracks competitor activity, new product releases, and market movements so that ISRs do not have to piece that picture together themselves.
"CI is a dedicated team that studies our competition, helps us understand the industry, new releases, and how to navigate the sales process."
Proprietary internal tools help him identify which accounts have the most potential and prioritise his outreach accordingly. Systems engineers handle the technical credibility conversations with senior IT stakeholders so that Dmytro can focus on the relationship and the commercial side of the deal.
"System engineers are essential to helping me hit my quota. They're great at covering the technical details with senior IT stakeholders and winning credibility."
Comparing what I used to know before and after the tech industry, it's beyond comparison. I enjoy growing in this field, with a growing company. It supplies me with motivation to work.

Associate Account Executive
What are the biggest growth moments for a Veeam ISR in their first year?
Dmytro arrived at Veeam having never worked in tech. The shift from financial services to enterprise software sales required him to build a working understanding of an entirely new industry, new products, and a new kind of buyer.
The pace of that learning was accelerated by the speed of Veeam itself. When Dmytro joined, the company had just acquired Cove Data Protection, built on it, and continued releasing new products at a rate that keeps the sales conversation fresh.
"The speed surprised me most, the speed of innovation within the company, the speed of growth, the speed of delivering products. We're always beating the market."
Three months into his role, he was invited to Launchpad Dublin, Veeam's premier sales event, and later to Launchpad Las Vegas. For someone still learning the product and the industry, the access to senior leadership and the scale of the networking was significant.
"The most amazing corporate event I've ever taken part in, loads of energy, important and essential networking sessions. The directors I connected with were very friendly and easy to talk to."
The tour guide years in Krakow turned out to be useful preparation. Learning how to read a room, tell a story, and bring an audience along are skills that translate directly into enterprise sales conversations.
What is the team culture like for sales at Veeam Poland?
The Warsaw sales floor is competitive by nature, and the environment Dmytro describes is one where that competition sits alongside genuine collaboration.
"My hiring manager is an open-minded and creative person who's open to feedback. I feel safe to openly discuss with senior leaders, directors who are open to improving."
The team shares ideas regularly in brainstorming sessions, looking for ways to improve processes and find new approaches to winning deals. Dmytro points to the openness of the culture as something that surprised him, the sense that a suggestion made in a team session can actually go somewhere.
"The culture on my team is very open-minded. We regularly share ideas to improve processes and how to win new deals. I can see the fruits of my work."
Outside of work, Dmytro watches French comedies and Polish series, plays tennis with his wife, and travels when he can. The advice he would give to his younger self: do not feel bad for trying new things that do not work out. The path from tour guide to Shell to Canada to Veeam was not linear, and that turned out to be the point.
Why join Veeam in Poland as an Inside Sales Representative?
Veeam Poland gives ISRs a product with strong market recognition, tooling that takes the guesswork out of account prioritisation, and a support structure including Competitive Intelligence, systems engineers, and the channel team that means complex deals are never navigated alone. The work connects to real outcomes: the businesses Dmytro sells to include organisations where continuity is critical, and the role reflects that.
