Growing Through New Experiences: How Loredana Shaped her Career Path at Veeam

When Loredana Muziciuc joined Veeam in 2019, she was looking for a place where she could grow, take on new challenges, and keep developing professionally. She found all that, along with something she did not expect: a career path shaped by new experiences, a workplace where everyone can thrive, and people who helped her grow every step of the way.

How did your journey at Veeam begin?

Loredana joined Veeam after hearing strong feedback from partners in her previous role. She had a bit of experience in the industry but wanted more space to learn. “I came because I knew I could learn more. I didn’t have tech studies, and it felt fascinating to come here and grow.”

How did you grow along the way?

She started her journey as an individual contributor. Over time, she moved through different roles, expanded her scope across teams and regions, and eventually grew into a leadership role. For her, career growth happened in more than one way, supported by a workplace where everyone is trusted, encouraged to stretch, and given room to thrive.

Career growth isn’t only about promotions, it also means expanding your role, getting new knowledge, understanding more processes, and working with different people.

Some changes came as Veeam expanded into new markets, while others were natural steps based on where she felt ready to contribute more. Switching between teams helped her build confidence. “With every new team, you meet different types of people, different situations and different challenges. That is what helps you grow.” Today, she is Team Lead for EMEA Inside Distribution Managers.

She also experienced mentoring from both sides. She had her own mentors when she needed guidance, and later she became a mentor herself. “I liked giving back everything I learned,” she said. Being both mentee and mentor helped her see her own progress more clearly.

What does collaboration look like in your team?

Her team spans several regions. She describes them as experienced, supportive, autonomous and organized. In person meetups, like a recent gathering in Casablanca, strengthened these connections. “It helped us understand each region better and put a face to a name.”

How do you approach interviewing candidates?

Now that she conducts interviews herself, Loredana wants candidates to feel comfortable. “Emotions are good. They are human,” she said. She prefers open questions to help candidates speak freely “People told me they felt comfortable and appreciated, not constrained”.

What does balance look like for you?

Loredana uses her time outside work to reset. She spends time with family, goes for walks, cooks and enjoys board games. She values VeeaMe Day – a quarterly company-wide rest day - because it creates space everyone can take at the same time. “It reminds us that it’s good to disconnect. It’s the clearest form of appreciation”.
