About the Role

The Senior Domain Engineering Specialist is a high-impact technical advisory role within Veeam’s Center of Expertise, offering the opportunity to work at the intersection of data resilience, security, cloud, and modern application platforms. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Customer Success Engineers, Customer Success Specialists, Sales Engineers, and Account Teams to help strategic customers accelerate adoption, strengthen resilience, and realize greater value from their investments.

As part of Veeam’s Center of Expertise, you’ll engage in strategic customer situations where advanced technical knowledge, architectural guidance, and domain expertise directly shape outcomes. You’ll have broad visibility across customer environments and business priorities, making this role especially compelling for candidates who enjoy solving complex challenges, influencing senior stakeholders, and helping customers build resilient architectures for the future.

You’ll bring expertise across traditional infrastructure, cloud platforms, virtualization technologies, and modern containerized environments, helping customers build resilient architectures wherever their applications and data reside.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor for strategic customer accounts, providing specialized expertise across data resilience, security, cloud-native technologies, and Kubernetes platforms.
  • Lead architecture reviews, resilience assessments, operational readiness reviews, and solution validation engagements to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve resilience and recoverability.
  • Engage technical and executive stakeholders on resilience strategy, cyber recovery preparedness, cloud modernization, and operational best practices.
  • Provide guidance on protecting and recovering workloads across virtual, physical, cloud, SaaS, and containerized environments.
  • Assess Kubernetes and container-based application architectures and advise on data protection, disaster recovery, and operational resilience for cloud-native workloads.
  • Analyze telemetry, platform adoption trends, and operational indicators to identify optimization opportunities and expansion signals.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Product Management, and Support teams to resolve complex technical challenges and advocate for customer outcomes.
  • Deliver technical workshops, executive briefings, and strategic advisory sessions that drive adoption and long-term customer success.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Kubernetes data protection, cloud-native resilience, container platforms, and the Veeam Kasten portfolio.

What You’ll Bring

The qualifications below include both core requirements and preferred experience. Candidates do not need to meet every preferred qualification to be considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, solution architecture, platform engineering, cloud engineering, customer success, infrastructure engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes, container platforms, cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, or data protection technologies.
  • Experience designing, deploying, supporting, or advising on containerized environments, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu, or managed Kubernetes services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of cloud-native application architectures, microservices, service meshes, and container orchestration.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and operational resilience for Kubernetes and cloud-native applications.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and modern application delivery practices.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, technical assessments, workshops, proofs of concept, or strategic advisory engagements.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications such as VMCE, CKA, CKAD, Red Hat OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, or equivalent credentials.

What Success Looks Like

  • Customers view you as a trusted advisor for resilience, cloud, security, and modernization initiatives.
  • Complex technical risks are identified and mitigated before they impact customer outcomes.
  • Customers successfully adopt and operationalize Veeam solutions across traditional and cloud-native environments.
  • Customer Success and Sales teams rely on your expertise to support strategic engagements and growth opportunities.
  • Customers improve their resilience maturity, accelerate time to value, and realize measurable business outcomes from their investment in Veeam.
