Senior Contracts Manager, Procurement Legal

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and highly-pragmatic Senior Contracts Manager to join our extended Legal team in Romania, with a primary focus on Procurement Legal matters. This role will support a high-volume, fast-paced procurement contracts function and will work closely with another Senior Contracts Manager in Romania to ensure consistent legal review and drafting, efficient contract flow, clear risk positioning, and smooth contract lifecycle before execution.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted Procurement Legal partner to Procurement, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, Data Privacy, IT and Security Teams, and other business stakeholders. He/She will support complex supplier agreements, vendor templates, Veeam standard templates, statements of work, order forms, amendments, renewals, extensions, terminations, sponsorship and marketing-related agreements, and other procurement documentation as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the review, redlining, drafting and negotiation of procurement contracts.
  • Support Procurement governance by ensuring compliance with established review + approval and contracting processes.
  • Support a broad range of procurement categories: Technology & SaaS, Marketing Services, Events, Sponsorships, HR, Corporate and Professional Services and other supplier-related engagements.
  • Work closely with Procurement and Business stakeholders to ensure that commercial terms, business terms, financial matters, service descriptions, deliverables, pricing, payment terms, SLAs, KPIs and operational requirements are owned and approved by the appropriate teams, while Legal focuses on legal risk and enforceability.
  • Provide clear, practical and business-oriented legal guidance, translating complex contract language into concise recommendations, risk summaries, fallback positions and stakeholder-friendly explanations.
  • Maintain strong process discipline by ensuring that legal reviews are properly routed, tracked and documented through the appropriate procurement and CLM process and other approved systems.
  • Collaborate with Data Privacy, Compliance, Finance, Procurement, Marketing and other internal teams to ensure that matters outside Procurement Legal ownership are directed to the appropriate functional owner.
  • Help improve Procurement Legal processes, templates, playbooks, clause guidance, checklists, stakeholder training materials and internal documentation to support consistency and scalability.
  • Support stakeholder education by helping Procurement and business teams understand when Legal review is required, what information is needed for review, how to distinguish legal terms from commercial or business terms, and how to avoid delays caused by incomplete submissions.
  • Escalate material legal, financial, operational, data privacy, compliance or business risks clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Act as a reliable second point of support for Procurement Legal matters, helping balance workload, maintain continuity, and provide effective back-up coverage when needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Advanced experience in contract management: procurement legal support, commercial contracting, legal operations or a closely related contracts role.
  • Strong experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating supplier, procurement, vendor, SaaS, services, marketing, events, sponsorship, professional services or technology agreements.
  • Excellent understanding of contract structure and core legal provisions.
  • Strong ability to distinguish legal risk from business, commercial, operational, financial, procurement, compliance and data privacy ownership areas.
  • A pragmatic and balanced approach to risk, with the ability to protect the company while supporting business priorities and avoiding unnecessary friction.
  • Maintain a consistent Veeam position across recurring clauses and negotiation points.
  • Ability to propose clear, enforceable, balanced and business enhancement-friendly contract language.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise legal notes, negotiation rationales, stakeholder comments, approval explanations and escalation summaries.
  • Strong process discipline and attention to detail, including accurate tracking, record-keeping, version control, document hygiene and follow-through.
  • Proactive ownership mindset, with the ability to anticipate issues, ask the right questions, identify missing inputs, and move matters forward without constant direction.
  • Collaborative working style, with the maturity to partner closely with the Lead Contracts Manager, align on positions, share knowledge and maintain a consistent Procurement Legal approach.
  • Avoid informal or offline reviews where the matter should be routed through the approved process.
  • Use good judgment to determine when to push back, when to compromise, and when to escalate.
  • Comfort working in a multinational organization with multiple stakeholders, legal entities, jurisdictions and internal approval paths.
