At Veeam, Channel Partner Systems Engineers are the primary technical relationship owners for assigned channel partners including Service Providers (VCSPs), Value Added Resellers (VARs), distributors, and strategic alliances. You will be responsible for driving technical enablement, strategic alignment, and partner self-sufficiency across the channel ecosystem. This role blends technical presales, solution architecture, partner capability building, and go-to-market technical strategy. Working closely with Channel Account Managers, you will co-develop and execute the technical components of Partner Business Plans, ensuring partners have the knowledge, tools, and skills to position, sell, deploy, and support Veeam solutions independently.

You will act as a proactive information hub for assigned partners delivering product updates, competitive insights, enablement programs, and technical guidance that aligns to shared revenue objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical relationship for assigned channel partners (VCSPs, VARs, distributors, alliances) across ANZ.
  • Co-develop with CHANNEL ACCOUNT MANAGERs the technical enablement and go-to-market components of Partner Business Plans, ensuring alignment to revenue targets.
  • Design and deliver partner enablement programs including technical workshops, solution deep-dives, and hands-on labs.
  • Architect end-to-end Veeam solutions spanning multi-cloud, on-prem, hybrid, and containerised workloads.
  • Provide technical presales and proof-of-concept support to partners, enabling them to independently execute customer opportunities.
  • Act as the partner’s trusted technical advisor, influencing both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain deep expertise in VCSP architecture while expanding solution coverage to VAR and distribution-led business models.
  • Establish regular technical communications cadence(updates, newsletters, webinars, quarterly briefings).
  • Track and report on partner technical capability growth, partner-led wins, and enablement impact.
  • Collaborate with internal Veeam teams to ensure the broader sales organisation understands and can leverage partner capabilities.
  • Keep up to date with Veeam product roadmap, competitive positioning, and industry trends.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer or similar role, ideally across both Service Provider and VAR ecosystems.
  • Strong technical expertise in data protection, cloud architectures, virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, AHV), storage, networking, and containerisation (Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of hyperscale platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud native application architectures.
  • Experience in developing and executing partner enablement and technical GTM strategies.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to link technical initiatives to revenue outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and travel up to 40% as required.
