Coveware is a rapidly growing, fully distributed company with employees across the world. Coveware is a category defining cyber extortion incident response firm that empowers victims of cyber extortion to recover their data with transparency, efficiency and integrity. Forensic triage, negotiation, cryptocurrency payment and decryption services are bundled together to reduce guesswork by collecting and sharing data with victims in a similar situation. The data collection and recovery is enabled by the development of both proprietary and open-source software with the goal of enabling and empowering victims of cyber extortion, regardless of their technical ability or budget. Our team consists of dynamic and motivated individuals with collective and shared experiences throughout financial technology, product and software development, business continuity, law-enforcement and cyber security

 

WHO YOU ARE:

You have proven expertise in leading Design at Software companies, and collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers. You are self-motivated and curious about developing technologies that assist cyber incident response. You are passionate about building and delivering world class products and services to victims of cyber extortion.

HOW YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME: As the Lead Product designer at Coveware, you will be our first full-time designer. You will lead and guide the direction of our product design and design processes across all of our products. You will be designing solutions that are intuitive, clean and effective for achieving our product goals. You will be involved in the full design process, from user research to delivering high-fidelity designs. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. Qualified applicants will have the inclination and ability to develop creative solutions that keep our incident response products and services a step ahead.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead UX and UI of Coveware’s Products
  • Understand the complex problems we’re trying to solve in the incident response space
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering
  • Conduct user research sessions with users and stakeholders to understand product needs
  • Lead individual projects and deadlines
  • Application UI prototyping/development of user-facing features using a Web Application Framework

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • 8-12+ years of hands-on product design experience covering the full process from user research, sketching, to creating prototypes, user testing, and delivering high-fidelity designs
  • Experience with leading design and design teams
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Commitment and accountability for quality, excellence, and results
  • Experience with high security systems
  • Experience solving highly complex problems

WE HOPE YOU HAVE:

  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems
  • Willingness to help with design of sales and marketing materials, including the Coveware website
  • Experience Writing technical product requirements
  • Experience Growing and leading a team
  • Prior experience in a product based role is a bonus
