Take Ruth Hosttos, who is originally from Colombia and works in Sales in the Veeam Bucharest office, alongside colleagues from 23 nationalities. “I have colleagues from Poland, three other Colombians, a Russian colleague in the neighboring department and a colleague from Turkey. Though I’m not quite sure where everyone is from, that’s not an issue because we all speak English and communicate with each other well. I like the working environment and there’s something that makes me feel that this is the place that I’m supposed to be in right now.”
Setting the stage for Sales success
In fact, from day one, Ruth felt that she was set up for success.
“I learned so much from my trainer but also from my team. Everyone was extremely supportive.” For those who know Ruth, it didn’t come as a surprise that after just a few months, she asked for a larger territory and showed interest in becoming a manager. “My manager laughed – in a good way! – and was impressed that I knew what I wanted and was willing to take the steps to get there. One year and a half after, here I am, as Associate Manager, performing a role that allows me to support my team.”

Ruth also benefits from her exposure to different cultures and ethnicities within the team! “I’m able to understand different cultures, I speak different languages and I know that you have to approach a sale differently when you talk to an American customer than when you talk to a European one.” Her versatility and open-mindedness sure come in handy in those situations.
“I could go on and on about our multicultural team and many other perks, but I need to emphasize that we sell a product that I can really get behind,” Ruth says. She enjoys that she sells solutions that are relevant to today’s world and is proud that she can have honest conversations about the products with her customers.
No experience? No problem
