“I love working in Sales because no two customers or projects are alike. Here, every product and project set-up is different, and people in the various regions are different, too.” That is Grigore’s summary of what makes working in Sales at Veeam so special. He is an Inside Sales Representative who works on a large territory that comprises the Baltic countries, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, all with different languages, cultures, banking systems and commercial sectors. “It feels like I’m a traveler who is constantly going on a new adventure. So, if you like adventures, you’re going to love Sales here at Veeam!”
A supportive environment for new Veeamers
Grigore joined Veeam during the pandemic when everyone worked from home and the offices were closed. “But from a point of interaction, I never had the feeling that I was on my own,” Grigore says. “I always had someone I could count on. I also received plenty of support from HR and our office manager to find my way around and get the tools that I needed.” His team lead also helped Grigore during onboarding, and he was assigned an experienced Veeamer as a buddy who he could approach with any question that came up.
“What I really liked was the onboarding program itself. I received an email on my first day that laid out in detail what I was going to do and how my onboarding was structured day-by-day. I also had daily one-on-one meeting with my team lead during my first month where we explored products and how to sell them.”
But it was not only the technical side of onboarding that Grigore enjoyed a lot. “I joined in December, and in January we already had our first team building event, an online escape room game. I thought that was very cool! Veeam is about much more than work – it’s about community with your teammates and lots of opportunities that you can discover.”
A career that keeps on growing
After a bit more than a year at Veeam, Grigore knows that there’s nothing stopping him from growing and progressing in his career. “You have to be open to exploring new challenges and to new people all the time. That’s the only way you can leave your comfort zone and grow. And Veeam supports you in your development.”
Ultimately, Grigore says working in Sales at Veeam is a bit like playing chess: “If you understand the set-up of the game, you can position yourself and make the moves that allow you to achieve what you want.”
