The Director of Global Customer Marketing is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and execution of Veeam’s global customer marketing (i.e. advocacy and references) program.  This function is of strategic importance to Veeam as its focus is on customer excellence evolves and the company’s footprint into the enterprise arena accelerates. 

 

The role will oversee global program execution (reporting to, and working in partnership with, the Sr. Director of Global Corporate Communications), the on-going development and management of a library of reference accounts that can be nurtured and used as testimonials (written stories, videos, quotes, etc.) across the entire marketing mix.  Critically, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying ‘lighthouse’ references and interacting with the global sales and marketing teams to deliver high-quality assets on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement global customer marketing program – strategic focus and direction, together with tactical execution workflow. Objective will be to enhance and maintain the roster of global testimonials that can be leveraged by the sales and marketing organizations to advance Veeam’s brand awareness and sales effort, and to position Veeam in the market as a powerful enterprise provider
  • On-going development and ownership of the formal customer marketing program, including goals and objectives, guiding principles, tracking and reporting mechanisms, templates and forms, and incentives
  • Develop a portfolio of global brands that can be used within high-level opportunities (i.e. speaking engagements at industry events etc.)
  • Integrate program into wider Veeam marketing activities, such as campaigns, PR/AR, field marketing, sales efforts. Ensure a charter of excellence for the use of references, and work with the communications teams to make sure each and every asset is promoted correctly and aggressively
  • Work with the wider customer marketing team to identify and cultivate customer testimonials in each GEO; this includes convincing Veeam Sales, ProPartners, end users, and their PR and legal departments to participate in the program
  • Work with field sales and marketing teams on blending customer marketing with local customer references. By that, collaborate to develop a portfolio of assets that field teams can use as references in sales engagements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer marketing, including suggestions for potential testimonials and requests for references from Sales, Channels and Alliances, and AR/PR (be the owner of Veeam’s internal QC process)
  • Track use of customer testimonials worldwide, including written success studies, quotes, peer-to-peer references, audio, video, and AR/PR contacts
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee production of video references
  • Manage the GEO-based customer marketing teams
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related area
    (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • 12+ years of sales or marketing experience in B2B technology industry. Understanding of the roles played by alliance partners, distributors, system integrators, etc. in the channel market highly preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on business outcome story-telling
  • Communications, marketing and sales experience
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Enthusiastic, intelligent, hard-working, results-oriented
  • Prior leadership experience and/or experience managing a customer marketing program

  • Be able to demonstrate effective leadership and execution of the vision and strategy in a Marketing function as it relates to offerings, programs and solutions both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to craft thought leadership content and effectively share these with internal stakeholders; must be able to be perceived as an effective and credible leader at all levels within an organization and with external customers
  • Ideal candidate will be flexible and have the ability to think/act strategically as well as roll up their sleeves and work as an individual contributor to meet goals
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify thought leadership topics in which Veeam has credibility; and to create and implement integrated campaigns based on thought leadership areas
