“I didn’t raise my hand for the change… but I’m so glad others raised it for me.”

Our Inside Sales Director for Enterprise, Ashleigh, has had a whirlwind 10 years at Veeam. “It’s been full of challenges and surprises, twists and turns. When I joined as Inside Sales Associate, there were 10 of us in a brand-new office with no phones, and I was the only ISA responsible for creating and developing US leads. We had a blast, it was a small group and I was lucky to be able to sell a product that (even 10 years ago) was reliable.”

“As I continued to think about ways to grow my career, I was fortunate to meet the leader of our corporate resellers group. I thought I could be good in a role like that, so I continued to sell myself, positioning my skills as a necessary addition to his team. It worked!”

That move began Ashleigh’s opportunity working with internal and external partners to enhance Veeam’s presence to potential customers. While leadership comes easy to Ashleigh, she was given more and more opportunity to enhance her natural leadership abilities. It was out of her comfort zone at times, but she pushed forward and prevailed. “Veeam allows an opportunity for leaders to evolve, because like our business, my leadership style is ever-evolving. I went from telling people what to do, to demonstrating and inspiring my people to do their best”

After a trip to VeeamOn (Veeam’s annual national user conference), Ashleigh was approached to join the Enterprise team. It was a big move, as her experience was built on Veeam’s channel strategy, and totally different to working within the sales team at Veeam. “I didn’t raise my hand for the change… but I’m so glad others raised it for me. In my eight years, others had seen my leadership skills and pushed me into a role which Veeam was passionate about. I was so nervous but also thrilled by the opportunity.”

Ashleigh’s move was a big one, “I have been able to grow in ways I never thought possible.” #That’sVeeamazing!
