Supporting communities, promoting diversity

Kerry Soussou, a Partner Business Manager based in Sydney, Australia, is a passionate leader of our Veeam Cares social responsibility program. From helping our global partner Red Cross to supporting local opportunities such as local Women’s Shelter and Ronald McDonald House, Kerry is passionate about giving back to charitable organisations. “We’re given 24 Veeam Cares hours to leave the office and help the community. People aren’t just proud to give back, they’re proud to be part of a company that gives back.

“If someone were to ask me why I am so passionate about giving back to the community, I’d say there are several reasons. Firstly, I have an incredible sense of achievement when I’m actively involved in these initiatives. It reminds me of how fortunate we all are to be part of an incredible supportive inclusive industry. Secondly, to get others inspired, regardless of gender, age or cultural background, to give back to the community”.

Veeam Cares is also a great way for colleagues to be more connected with each other. “the Veeam Cares program has now been extended to be more inclusive and understanding, including caring about our colleagues from a diversity perspective. It means we can acknowledge, appreciate and respect the diverse teams that we have within the business. And we’ve been able to attract team members of all cultures and ages, of different genders and sexualities.”

From our perspective, giving people the opportunity to do something meaningful, no matter their background or skills, is how we support our colleagues. And that shines through our entire way of working.

For us, Kerry is paving the way for a better future. A future where people are able to do work that truly matters. “I think it does drive that pride in your company, but also the connections within the company.”
