Philanthropy has always been a way of life for Jonathan Stockwell, a member of our Renewals Customer Success team in Atlanta. So, it was inevitable that he’d lead the local chapter of Veeam Cares, our employee-driven social responsibility program. “When you care, you get that feeling inside you,” Jonathan says. “It grows and you have this overwhelming experience.”
Jonathan has grown his Veeam Cares team from 3 Veeamers to 25 in a year. Brainstorming about which groups to support takes center stage in their meetings. During a recent meeting, they hit on the idea of a book drive to support Manning Oaks Elementary School, where many of the students are from low-income families, and tying it in with the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
Jonathan was realistic. He set a target of 500 books but suspected that even his practical goal might be pushing it. The result? “We overachieved and collected 760 books,” says Jonathan proudly. “They were all donated to the school library, so every child has access. It was absolutely fantastic, a wonderful feeling.”
That feeling won’t stop any time soon. The team’s success has them planning future drives and setting their sights on collecting 800 books to help the kids of Manning Oaks.
